I can’t speak to their actual service, but my experience with one of their drivers was extremely disappointing. I was signaling to merge while making a right turn, and instead of allowing it safely, the driver sped up to block me, laughed, and then made an obscene gesture. It was rude, unsafe, and very unprofessional.

If this is how their drivers act on the road, it’s hard to feel comfortable trusting this company in my home. Employees should understand that their behavior reflects directly on the company’s reputation.”

We’ve had Llona work on 2 plumbing projects and one emergency (my husband drilled through a water pipe 🙄) and honestly we’d never use anyone else. They’re so nice- everyone- the ladies in the office, the guys who have come out to do the onsite work. I feel like they definitely know what they’re doing and they have always given us a very fair price. Some people gouge us when they see our home but I’ve never felt they have and I’ve compared their prices to others in the area. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

This was our first time experience with Llona Plumbing, and it was great! We will definitely use them in the future. Other plumbing companies have become so big and corporate — we prefer the smaller, more customer-friendly small, family run business. Our tech Roger was terrific! He accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. Very polite and professional.

I had a leaky PVC pipe underneath one of the sinks in my master bath. The technician recognized the problem and fixed it immediately. I was very happy with the service and I thought the price was reasonable. I would recommend this company to others.

Roger Garcia arrived early & after introduction went straight to work. He was very polite & extremely efficient. We received excellent service from him.
He was such a pleasure to meet him.
We had original install of both the garbage disposal & the kitchen faucet which both needed replacement. We had already purchased the new items ourselves & had them on hand, however, the new installs were more complicated, but Roger was able to overcome the challenge & both pieces of equipment are running better than ever. Thank You, Roger for an excellent job. He is quite an asset to your company!
We feel that the cost was very fair! We are quite pleased to have Llona Plumbing to call on when needed. Great company & Staff!

Mitch came out today to do 21 point inspection and tune up on my 2 - 10 year old AC units. I’ve lived in Florida for 20 years and dealt with a lot of different AC companies. Mitch from Pronto is by far, the most professional and knowledgeable AC tech that I’ve ever dealt with.
He walked me through the process and explained what was happening with my system including areas that were functioning well and items to keep an eye on.
The next time that I have an AC need Pronto will be my first and only call. Thanks Mitch and The Pronto team!

Post-Hurricane Helene, once again Pronto Service Pros A/C proves why they are the best in Tampa Bay for your A/C needs. Highly professional & calm communication when things are a mess, & stressful for everyone on the coast/beach. Quick response time for an on-site A/C system assessment. Highly knowledgeable professional to answer all questions thoroughly & make recommendations. Excellent options & pricing. This company is well run from operations to the field. We will not use anyone else. And we have referred them to our neighbors in our condo development which tells you all you need to know about their company. We specifically want to recognize Shelley Brown who runs the business & Eddie, an outstanding A/C expert who came out to do the assessment.

Prompt, thorough, professional, tidy, polite, and knowledgeable service. Eddie was an excellent tech and explained all service options to me as well as made appropriate recommendations for my needs (didn't do the pushy oversell).

I would highly recommend Pronto Svc Pros & Llona Plumbing. Everyone from the office team to the techs in your home or business were top notch! They made a leak that I thought was going to be a nightmare into a very bearable/manageable experience with no frustration from the repair team.

Called Pronto Service Pros late (4:45pm) on Monday needing my AC system replaced. The quote arrived early the next morning at an excellent price, within an hour and a half the crew was here to remove my old system (a split with the air handler in the attic and compressor outside). They finished later in the day and my new system works great. Technicians were great, took all the old stuff with them, left my inside utility spotless clean. Oh, communications were outstanding - I got texts on when the techs were leaving to come here, and honestly I am impressed. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Why Is My House So Humid — Even With the AC Running?

If your house feels muggy with the AC running, the usual causes are an oversized AC that cools too fast to dehumidify, short cycling, a fan set to ON, leaky ductwork pulling in humid attic air, or simply Florida’s outdoor air finding its way in. Your AC is your home’s main dehumidifier — but only when it runs long, steady cycles. Aim for indoor humidity between 45% and 55%; a $15 hygrometer will tell you where you stand. Here’s why homes stay humid and how to fix each cause.

How your AC removes humidity (and why cycles matter)

As warm air passes over the cold evaporator coil, moisture condenses out and drains away — but only while the system runs. An AC that blasts the temperature down in 8 minutes and shuts off removes a fraction of the moisture that a right-sized system removes over a 20-minute cycle. Cold air with high humidity feels clammy, so you lower the thermostat, spend more, and still feel sticky.

The 7 usual suspects

1. An oversized air conditioner

The most common structural cause in Florida. Oversized units short cycle by design — they satisfy the thermostat before dehumidifying. If your system has always cooled fast but left the house clammy, sizing is the likely culprit; confirm with a load calculation before your next replacement. Not sure what size you need? See our guide on what size AC unit you need.

2. Fan set to ON instead of AUTO

Running the blower continuously re-evaporates water off the wet coil between cycles and blows it back into the house. Switch to AUTO — it’s the single fastest humidity fix, and it’s free.

3. Leaky ductwork in the attic

A Tampa Bay attic in summer is a 120–140°F sauna. Return-side duct leaks suck that hot, wet air straight into your system. Duct leakage of 20% isn’t unusual in older homes — sealing it improves humidity, bills, and cooling all at once.

4. A struggling or dirty AC

A dirty coil, low refrigerant, or a failing blower cuts dehumidification capacity even in a right-sized system. If humidity crept up gradually over months, maintenance is the first stop.

5. Humid air leaking in

Worn weatherstripping, unsealed can lights, gaps around plumbing penetrations, and a leaky attic hatch all let outdoor moisture migrate in. Air sealing plus adequate attic insulation keeps the moisture (and heat) out.

6. Moisture generated indoors

Long showers without the exhaust fan, boiling pots without the range hood, line-drying laundry indoors, and lots of houseplants all add real water to your air. Run bath fans during and 20 minutes after showers, and make sure the dryer vents outside.

7. Crawl space or slab moisture

Homes with crawl spaces can wick ground moisture upward. A vapor barrier below the house makes a measurable difference.

How to lower indoor humidity: an ordered checklist

  1. Set the thermostat fan to AUTO (free, instant).
  2. Run bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans whenever you make steam (free).
  3. Replace the air filter and get a maintenance visit if humidity rose gradually ($).
  4. Have ducts inspected and sealed — highest payoff in older Tampa Bay homes ($$).
  5. Air-seal and top up attic insulation ($$).
  6. Add a whole-home dehumidifier if the house still won’t hold 55% — the definitive fix for chronically humid homes ($$$).
  7. When replacing your AC, insist on correct sizing and consider a variable-speed system: longer, gentler cycles dehumidify dramatically better ($$$).

Why it’s worth fixing

Sustained indoor humidity above 60% feeds mold and dust mites, warps wood floors and trim, and makes you run the AC colder than you need. Getting from 65% to 50% humidity often lets homeowners raise the thermostat 2–3 degrees at equal comfort — which pays for the fixes over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should indoor humidity be in Florida?

45–55%. Below 60% you inhibit mold and dust mites; below 45% is unnecessary and hard to hold in our climate. A basic hygrometer costs about $15.

Why is my house humid even when the AC runs all day?

If it truly runs long cycles and the house is still muggy, suspect duct leaks pulling in attic air, a dirty coil or low refrigerant cutting capacity, or major air leakage. That combination merits a professional look.

Do dehumidifiers work better than the AC for humidity?

They do different jobs: your AC removes moisture while cooling; a whole-home dehumidifier removes moisture even when cooling isn’t needed — like Florida’s warm, wet shoulder seasons. Chronically humid homes benefit from both.

Can high humidity damage my house?

Yes — sustained humidity above 60% grows mold on walls and vents, swells wood floors and doors, rusts fixtures, and can void some flooring warranties. It’s a building problem, not just a comfort one.

Does closing windows keep humidity out?

Mostly, yes — but infiltration through gaps, ducts, and attic bypasses continues even with windows shut. That’s why air sealing and duct sealing matter more than window habits in humid climates.

An AC that starts, runs a few minutes, and shuts off again is "short cycling" — most often caused by a dirty air filter, a frozen or dirty coil, low refrigerant, a bad thermostat location, or a system that was oversized from the start. A healthy AC should run 15–20...
